The piece is based on a folklore rhythm from Argentina: la Chacarera. My parents are
from Argentina. I grew up in Israel, but in a house that had the Argentinian culture.
The piece La Chacarera del Último Latido (from Spanish – the Chacarera of the last
heart beat) is trying to deal with a folklore non-western rhythm in the field of
contemporary western music. For me, the relationship between these two worlds is in a
struggle, but in the piece they are trying to fit together.
