Baritone saxophone & 9 musicians

Commissioned by Meitar Ensemble as part of the CEME 2021 festival, dedicated to Maayan James

Note:

On one February night in 2014, in the refugee camp of Jalazone near the Palestinian city of Ramallah, I suffered one of the scariest experiences of my life.

A military action I participated in as an IDF soldier, brought me into a harsh encounter with Palestinian civilians, and a real concern for my own life and the lifes of my friends.

This piece depicts that night’s events from my own, personal point of view.

The piece was written as part of Meitar Ensemble’s CEME 2021 festival, and is dedicated to Maayan James who performed the saxophone part at the piece’s premiere.
